Where it all began...

 
About Baskets Because

About Us

Baskets Because was created to make gift giving easy.

It all started around Easter 2002 from very humble beginnings. Kerrie wrapped some Easter Baskets for the local school and the other mums were blown away at the presentation of the baskets.

One of the mums suggested that they should start a gift basket business. Kerrie laughed and thought it was a fun idea. However, the other mum was serious and together they started Baskets Because.

Kerrie soon realised the potential of the business and looked beyond the fun and decided a serious need existed for a quality gift basket service within the Wollongong region.

So with over 20 years experience as a qualified florist she registered the business name, established a web site and Baskets Because was born.

It wasn't long before we had outgrown the home and so we invested in a purpose built two storey studio, incorporating storage, office space and workshop.

We are continuing to grow and have just developed our new website with Exa Web Solutions. We expect our business to expand dramatically over the next few years allowing us to employ additional full time staff. We are currently operating with three full time staff and looking to expand again throughout the year.

We deliver anywhere in that has a postcode and can arrange delivery of flowers to most destinations throughout the world.

What are our hours of business?

Baskets Because operates Monday to Friday from 8am to 6pm. Contact us at this time by telephone 1300 557309 or 02 4284 8844.

Of course we can accept orders via the internet and fax 24/7.

Fruit & Flowers

Deliveries of fruit baskets, flower arrangements outside of the Illawarra are sent via a relay network. Pictures on our site are a guide only and actual content may vary.

Baskets Because Delivery Policy

We deliver locally within the Illawarra region Monday to Friday and on Weekends for special occasions such as Mother's Day & Father's Day. Deliveries outside of the Illawarra are handled by Couriers Please & Fastway Couriers and they ONLY deliver Monday to Friday. Be sure to check the delivery timeframe details carefully and contact us if you are unsure.

Flower deliveries every day except Sunday & public holidays to most towns & cities in Australia.

Baskets Because delivers to anywhere within Australia (as long as it has a postcode!) We can also deliver floral arrangements overseas. We can also provide gift baskets to most overseas destinations utilising our links with international Gift Basket retailers.

Baskets Because gives you the option of choosing to pick up or have us courier your gift basket, gift hamper or floral arrangement to its destination.

The following time frames should be used as a guide only. These time frames are provided by Fastway Couriers and are estimated delivery time frames only.

Orders of 2 or more hampers to the one destination may incur additional freight charges. Kerrie will contact you if additional freight charges are to be applied.

Baskets Because cannot be responsible for delivery delays beyond our control and as such will not provide specific delivery times of arrival, only approximate.

Please ensure your recipient address is a business address, or if a personal address it must be able to be left safe (you will need to indicate this under special instructions on your shipping details). Please also provide contact telephone no. of recipient if possible to allow us to confirm delivery details if required.

If a gift cannot be delivered due to incorrect address or no person available for signing the extra courier charge for re-delivery will be forwarded on to you.

What if I need to send a gift to multiple destinations?

You simply need to process them as individual orders. If you have multiple orders to one destination you can process that as one order.

Orders of 2 or more hampers to the one destination may incur additional freight charges. Kerrie will contact you if additional freight charges are to be applied.

Alternatively you can download our order form and fax the details to us or simply give Kerrie & the team a call and place your order over the phone.

What are my payment options?

All prices are in Australian Dollars AUD and are inclusive of GST

A small shipping / delivery charge will apply to all orders (on line and in any other format) unless you are collecting from Basket Because premises in Woonona.

Direct Debit into our bank account can be easily arranged please contact us on

We accept EFTPOS if paying on the premises

Baskets Because requires payment upon ordering for large orders and may require a deposit for Christmas orders.

Once we have received an order you will be sent an email confirming the order and your order number. Anytime you have further questions you can email us and quote your order number for a prompt response.

Baskets Because replacement policy

If for reasons beyond our control particular items are not available as pictured on the website, Baskets Because will automatically replace with another item of equal value and quality.

What if I need to cancel an order?

For all orders placed on our website we incur bank fees and gateway provider fees. Therefore, we must pass some of this fee onto you should you choose to cancel an order.

For this purpose we will impose a small fee of 5% of the total of the order.

Therefore, if you choose to cancel an order and request a refund we will deduct the 5% from the order total and refund the balance to your credit card.

You will need to contact us and provide your credit card number along with the name on the card and expiry date. We require this information from you as we do not receive any of your credit card details when an order is placed.

Once an order has been sent we can no longer provide a refund. If you have failed to check delivery timeframes or simply change your mind then you must wear the cost.

At Baskets Because we are committed to maintaining your privacy and can reassure you we do not sell or share our customers personal details with any other companies. We may from time to time use the information to contact you regarding new product ranges or specials we are running.

At Baskets Because we have gone to great lengths to ensure our payment process is totally secure for all our customers to use. We have a world class payment process in place, with the highest level of security available (128bit encryption). Details regarding your order and delivery are sent to us and all payment details are sent via the Commonwealth Banks secure online payment gateway. At no stage do we have access to your credit card details.

Baskets Because return policy

In the unlikely event that your gift basket or hamper is damaged or has been tampered with upon delivery please contact us at your at your earliest convenience and we will arrange for a replacement to be delivered. We will also organise pick up and inspection of goods.

If the contents of the gift basket are not appropriate for whatever reason we will exchange or credit your purchase, no questions asked.

Pricing Options

Standard Option

The designs illustrated in this site represent the standard or base value. When you choose the Deluxe or Platinum value size, your gift will be increased in size, content or container value, compared with the illustrated gift basket, hamper or flower arrangements.


DELUXE Price Upgrade

Deluxe Price upgrade allows us to add more items or use items of higher value. We may also upgrade the container, add nicer bows or gift wraps, and in some cases upgrade all of the above. This simply means we are adding an additional $20 value to your gift basket, hamper or flower arrangement.


PLATINUM Price Upgrade

PLATINUM Price upgrade allows us to add more items or use items of higher value. We may also upgrade the container, add nicer bows or gift wraps, and in some cases upgrade all of the above. This simply means we are adding an additional $40 value to your gift basket, hamper or flower arrangement.
